What immediately grabbed my attention in this artwork was the bright blue background. The trees and rocks that make up the back portion of the picture are a light shade of blue that I find to be interesting, because obviously the trees and rocks aren’t blue. What this does for the artwork is it adds a calm hue that gives the viewer a very mellow emotion. The lights, and the reflection of the lights in the water, are the only part that distinctively doesn’t have the same hue. The next thing I noticed was the tree and the stick in the foreground. There is detail in the bark of the tree, which just helps to show that it is what is in focus. The tree has branches with green leaves on the end that stick out and cover the entirety of the work. After looking at the picture for a while, you start to almost ignore the branches and look through them. In the far back, behind the trees and even some clouds, sticks out a building. This is a very beautiful looking building that overlooks the little area of the picture. It’s a small addition that adds a lot to the photo. I believe this artwork is important because it has a little bit of everything. There are trees, rocks, water, clouds, and a building peeking over the top that all come together to complete the artwork
